Crabgrass

Crabgrass is a pale green annual that branches freely and spreads by rooting at the lower nodes.

Blades are short, sparsely hairy, and taper to a point. As plants mature, finger-like seed heads produce thousands of seeds.

Crabgrass forms dense, unsightly patches that smother the turf.

The Lawn Ranger uses Dimension (active ingredient, Dithiopyr), which is safe to use on most lawn grasses and provides long-lasting coverage. This is an important consideration, since not all crabgrass seed germinates at once.

Thus, Dimension will kill crabgrass that germinates later, too. Dimension also displays some effectiveness as a post-emergent herbicide.
